InterCommunity, Inc was founded through the efforts of dedicated individuals and families who volunteered their time and energy to help individuals living with mental illness and/or addiction disorders increase their quality of life.
Today, InterCommunity is fortunate to still receive such support and commitment from individuals, families, businesses, educational institutions, townships, and communities. Please see below to see how you can best help InterCommunity continue to provide opportunities for recovery.

Fundraising Events
Every year, InterCommunity holds their Life, Laughter and Learning Series, a combination of three different events in which the proceeds support InterCommunity’s mission to provide those in need with opportunities for healing and recovery, and lead the way for them to become active members of the community. Life: The 8th Annual Old Wethersfield 5K & 10K Road Race/Walk, Sunday, November 13, 2011 8:00 a.m. at the Wethersfield DMV. InterCommunity partners with the Hartford Marathon Foundation to put on this great race.
Over 800 runners and 40 volunteers came out for the 2011 Road Race, which was rescheduled from August to November, due to weather. We are looking forward to the 2012 Road Race!

Laughter: InterCommunity's signature event, the Laughter of Life was held this year at The Society Room in downtown Hartford, on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at 6 p.m. The event featured fabulous food and cocktails, silent and live auctions; a wonderful, fun-filled night for just around 200 guests. InterCommunity was thrilled to honor Congressman John Larson as an honorary Chairperson and former state senator and retired Connecticut DMV Commissioner, Biagio “Billy” Ciotto in 2011.

Learning: A Health and Wellness Fair held Saturday, June 4 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. whichfurther educated those on wellness resources in the community. Activities included over 15 participating vendors, children’s activities, food, music and free wellness screenings and promotions. |
