Tricia Orozco is a licensed clinical social worker with over 30 years of experience in behavioral health service delivery and seven years’ experience in health care administration. She has led multidisciplinary teams of nurse practitioners, behavioral health clinicians, and administrative support staff.

Tricia has been with InterCommunity for 23 years, joining the agency as a crisis clinician and administrator within IC’s Assessment Center in 2003. While at the Assessment Center, Tricia acted as IC’s main liaison with local police departments, performed intake & mobile crisis assessments, and became the first staff to receive the Ann Price Care Award. In 2017 Tricia was promoted to create and oversee five School Based Health Centers (SBHCs). Within two years, Tricia added two more SBHCs. Thanks to her leadership, IC now runs 11 SBHCs, all of which are seen as the model for effectiveness and SBHC/town partnership.

Funded for only the original five centers, Tricia has been a strong advocate for access and has procured over $5,000,000 in additional SBHC funding in the past few years. Recognizing the needs of SBHC students, Tricia opened a food pantry in our Mayberry SBHC, the first SBHC food pantry in Connecticut. A state-wide leader in her field, Tricia was appointed by House Majority Leader Jason Rojas to serve on the Connecticut’s Heath and Trust Fund Board and the State Advisory Board for SBHC. In addition, she is on the Executive Board of the Connecticut Association of School Based Heath Centers. Tricia is frequently called for guidance by other CASBHC members, town officials, and state representatives alike. Her work last year to ensure ongoing access to reproductive services led to a change to State Statute, thus protecting and expanding care to all young women in Connecticut.

In addition to her SBHC work, Tricia provided oversight of primary care and behavioral health services at IC’s South Windsor clinic before being promoted to Vice President of Strategic Implementation in 2023. Since that time, Tricia has coordinated scores of initiatives across the agency to improve access and care outcomes, and was named Vice President of Operations in 2026 to oversee daily operations across the agency.
